Zoo Inquiry

We are continuing to learn all about the zoo in Kindergarten. Ms. Phillips class has expressed their interest in reptiles and have been learning all about the different reptiles that can be found in the zoo. They have been creating art based on their favourite reptile. Ms. Rothe's class has been researching different zoo maps and have created their own maps. They have now chosen an animal that they will be making an enclosure for to add to our classroom zoo in the future.

Here are some pictures of the maps that Room 3 has created. They are checklist to make sure they have included everything.

This Week in Kindergarten

This Week

This week we are learning letter n. An activity that you could do at home to practice letter m is to go on a walk through your neighborhood with this beautiful weather. Look for signs that have m in them and find object that have the letter m in them. Watching videos online that have songs for the letter n is a fun way to generate words and practice the sound for the letter n.

A literacy task will be coming home later this week. Please take a look at it, discuss it with your child, sign it, and return the paper. This helps to keep you up to date with the things that we are doing in school.

Our Zoo Inquiry

We are so excited to continue with our inquiry on the zoo and zoologists. We have been looking into what their job requires and how animals are a community and how they coexist in a zoo.  We have been watching web cams of animals from both the Calgary and San Diego Zoo. The live web cams allowed us to look at the environments of pandas, koalas, penguins and a few more!  Check out what the animals are up to at .........
